High school seniors and college level students may apply. Applications may be picked up at the
church office or printed from our website. Your application, essay and most recent official school
transcript must be returned by April 17. Applications after April 17 will NOT be considered.
Announcement of scholarship recipients will be made in May.
These scholarships require membership at Immanuel Lutheran Church. In the application we
request information about your church attendance and activities, educational goals, financial
needs, community service, awards/honors, a one page essay, and your most current official school
transcript.
To apply you will need to do three things:
• First, fill out the application form in full. (Do not use pencil.)
• Second, use either ink or type the essay and make sure you fill out all the information
asked for in the essay question.
• Third, include your most current OFFICIAL transcript. Be aware that it may take several
weeks for a transcript to be sent, so apply early as scholarships are not awarded without
a transcript.
An important note: you must re-apply each year that you wish to ask for a scholarship, and ALL
THREE PIECES must be included in subsequent applications.
The distribution of funds are distributed either to the college in the fall or are distributed directly
to the student, whichever is preferred. Student social security numbers are needed prior to
disbursement. These scholarships are made annually and are not renewed. The amount of the
scholarships vary according to the resources available. All scholarship information will remain
confidential.
Scholarship hints: Turn in the three part application together. This includes your answers on the
application, your essay, and your official transcript. Please use a 12 or 14 point font which is
professional in appearance such as Arial, Calibri, Tahoma, Times New Roman or Verdana. Print
your application and essay on high quality paper and double space your essay. Your work should
be free of typos, grammatical errors and spelling mistakes. Even if you have proofread your
paperwork several times, get someone else to proofread it before you send it in.
