Listed as a UNESCO sight, Petra is an ancient city entirely carved from sandstone. Hues of reds, oranges, yellows and purples paint the valley with a palette of beauty that adds to the already utterly remarkable landscape.
The hike in is about two miles following a natural break in the towering rocks. The moment came that our tour guide diverted our attention in order to create a dramatic reveal. It worked!
