Even though I have been in and out of this town repeatedly in the last week, today was the first day that I got to simply be a curious tourist.
From a Hindu holy place to Buddhist stupas, my guide had much information to share with me. And truthfully, if I listen with my heart I can hear ways that our faith journeys embrace similar paths and truths.
The Buddhist stupas that we visited today featured many, many prayer wheels. It was this giant version that grabbed my attention and imagination. World peace sized prayers? Solving hunger sized prayers? God sized prayers?
Our final stop of the day was a UNESCO site filled with history and religion significance. However, due to its proximity to the forest, the monkeys have moved in; therefore it is commonly known as the monkey temple. While there are devoted pilgrims wandering about, there are plenty of others (me!) caught up in the antics of the unpredictable primates.
There you have it, prayers and giggles from Nepal!
