I had not heard the saying until this morning and then, moments after my guide uttered it, there was a roadside sign with the same message — no hurry, no worry.
No hurry, no worry is a pretty excellent approach to a ‘significant’ anything, including a hike.
According to my guide, we would be covering 14 kilometers, going up to an elevation of 10,000 feet. And the final approach to the Tiger’s Nest Monastery is an exclamation point of 800 steps. (My guide claims that he has counted those stairs and he certifies the full number.)
Several blessings marked my final touring day in Bhutan. Okay, I completed the trek and I certainly consider that a huge accomplishment as well as a blessing!
But a couple more…
*I rented a walking stick for 2 whole US dollars. Game changer!
*The weather was dry. (I can’t imagine how much harder the trail would have been to negotiate if the rocks were slick and the muddy inclines even slicker.)
*The cloud cover was the other notable delight of the day. It meant that we walked in cooler temperatures. (Gift!) But it was the parting of the clouds/lifting of the fog that provided my dramatic first peek at the Tiger’s Nest, my mountainside destination.
Spectacular!
As my days at the top-of-the-world grow short, I offer the same, simple blessing onto you…no hurry, no worry.
