Joy In The Wilderness
Going deep
The last time I walked by, the excavator was just getting started; this time, there is an enormous hole in the earth. While my imagination sees a basement for the foundation, it certainly makes me wonder what the house being built will look like.
With this groundwork, what remains to unfold?
Going deep is how we set firm footings. What we can say of construction, we can also say of relationships, the church, faith-life.
Now I am thinking of all sorts of parallels. The work is hard and sometimes dirty. It takes time and intentionality. Without a plan, who know what you will end up with?
For the things that we want to last, going deep seems a given.
