Joy In The Wilderness

Musings and ponderings by Pastor Leah Stolte-Doerfler

Invitation to Holy Conversations

On Sunday, in lieu of a traditional sort of message, Pastor Manuel and I had a conversation; with Jesus' wilderness temptation as the framework, we spoke honestly about the hardships of this last year, the ongoing struggles and the blessings.

My hope in the endeavor was multi-faceted. Certainly, the vision included pastoral transparency, but the other goal was to create opportunity and space for you as the community to speak of hardships, struggles and blessings. And, thank you, that sharing is already underway!

Included in my personal list of blessings is when YOU let me know just what you need from me. So bright and early this morning one of you made such a request. You asked me to remind you that 'things will get better.'

Four words of hope.

Four words that speak to a future.

Four words to nourish a weary spirit.

To the one who asked, to all of us, things will get better.

This chapter will come to a close. Certainly not as soon as we would like, but it had a beginning and it will have an ending.

Things will get better!

Pastor Leah

{PS. Thanks for asking!}
