Joy In The Wilderness

Musings and ponderings by Pastor Leah Stolte-Doerfler

Snow globe

On Sunday we got a video from our daughter in London. At long last the promised snow was gently falling; with the English architectural in the background, it was a sight to behold.

The rest of Sunday, I had an eye on my phone, which kept reporting that it was snowing here in town. Again and again, I went to the window, only to discover that my phone was lying to me.

And then the joy yesterday afternoon, when I looked out into wet and sloppy almost-snow. Before long, the almost-snow morphed into snow. Then the flower beds turned white and before I left work, even the pavement had become snow-coated.

Sitting in my study, enyoing the scene just out my window, I started getting texts. Even a call. It's snowing!

Let's be honest, when it snows in Silverton, you had better celebrate quickly because it wont last very long. So we did. Cute bitmojis of snow globes and giant snowballs and standing in the snow. Miles apart, we shared the giddy delight and I am thankful.
