Joy In The Wilderness
Think about this…
'Who will go if not me?'
While it sounds something akin to the response of the Prophet Isaiah, I actually heard the phrase in a newscast from civilians rising up in the Ukraine where the chaotic scenes are disturbing and the spirit of the Ukrainians compelling.
In the end, like Isaiah aren't they too attesting to a call? A compulsion to stand together? To unite in a common goal? To put everything, absolutely everything on the line?
'Who will go if not me?'
As we wade deeper into the Lenten Journey, where is your call?
For whom or what will we stand? Or unite?
When did you last put everything, absolutely everything on the line?
Prayerfully the violence that has descended upon the Ukrainians will be stopped and soon. Prayerfully. And prayerfully Lent will lead us deeper into the relationship with the God who calls us beloved. Prayerfully.
'Who will go if not me?'
