Joy In The Wilderness
Where is that?
This week starts with another preaching conference for Pastor Manuel and I, via Zoom, of course.
This morning, in our first session a particular phrase caught my ear: Hope lives in a faraway country.
Hope lives in a faraway country ~
Struggles with relationships…
Unemployment or under-employment…
Illness…
Depression…
Money troubles…
A world-wide pandemic…
Waiting…
Waiting for a vaccine…
Waiting…
Hope lives in a faraway country ~
Yes, but.
While many of the answers that we long for are very far off, the promise remains that we are not alone. The promise is that we have a God who finds us where we are and accompanies us, even in the hard and dark places. Especially in those spaces.
These are chapters when hope seems incredibly far off; and yet, it is also here. Among us.

{A travelling-daughter update. As it turns out, entering the United Kingdom was a non-issue. She is now quarantining in London.}
