Joy In The Wilderness
An odd little man
Recycle… Repurpose… Reuse…
Two styrofoam boxes, now reimagined into a squat, square 'snowman' in a Silverton front yard.
Clever. Cute. Creative.
Several years back, a man who called himself 'an odd little man' issued a stewardship challenge to the folks in our community. He called for everyone to increase their giving into an odd amount. Instead of a $100 gift, make it $111 or $117. Officially odd.
Whether a repurposed, reimagined shipping container or how we share our gifts, it seems in these cases at lease, that 'odd' is another way to articulate innovative or resourceful.
We still have months ahead of us before a significant portion of the population will be vaccinated against covid 19, meaning we still have more months of being the church in unprecedented ways. As you have ideas, thoughts, even 'wild hairs' as to how we can transform this strange season into something wonderfully odd ~ innovating, exciting, inviting ~ I look forward to hearing from you.
In the meantime, hats off to squat, square snowmen everywhere!
