Joy In The Wilderness
Walking among long and enduring shadows
Today was spent in Johannesburg and Soweto. Between Constitutional Hill, Nelson Mandela’s Home and the Apartheid Museum we had a deep drink of the profound racial difficulties this nation has endured. Even so, it remains a country brimming with hope.
On Constitutional Hill we sat in the Constitutional Court which had been built from the bricks of the prisons that held black men, some simply because they weren’t carrying the paperwork the oppressive white government told them they must. In reusing those former-prison bricks, the point was that there are possibilities for the future built on the struggles of the past. Amen!
in every age and circumstance, Lord do not allow us to waste our suffering. Amen!
