Joy In The Wilderness
Return from exile
Like many volunteer and mandatory evacuees, we have returned to our home. The electricity has been restored and the toppled tree painstakingly removed from our driveway and yard. We are home but let's be honest, life remains problematic.
We have been informed that the thick smoke that still hoovers isn't simply an eye sore, it is straight up hazardous.
The fires that threatened, still burn.
Some of our neighbors are still without electricity.
There are still evacuees.
There are families who have lost homes and all the comforts within.
Oh, and there is still a worldwide pandemic.
While there is so much to be thankful for, the return from exile reminds me that needs and pain continue.
May our prayers, kindness and generosity be as thick as the smoke.
