Joy In The Wilderness
The Advent Journey begins
The first Sunday in Advent has come, and gone. Nearly 40 weeks into the wilderness experience of Covid, we add the work of this season, which is introspective waiting.
Advent causes me to ask 1. How will we wait? 2. What are we waiting for?
Perhaps one of the most important things we can do this season is interlock the two questions ~ that the 'how' we wait continues to point to the 'what' {the 'whom'} we await.
After these months, the flurry of Advent opportunities seems like return of long-lost friends. On Sunday, between services, I searched out the Holy Family and the Wise Men. That they 'journey' towards the church each Advent is a fairly new tradition in our community. While new, it is dear to my heart, knowing that they are on the way… Friends, we are all on the way!
May you experience the wonder and joy of Advent revealings.
