Joy In The Wilderness

Musings and ponderings by Pastor Leah Stolte-Doerfler

The rain on McClain flows into the drain…

{Let's be honest, that is exactly what it was engineered to do!}

This morning was my first drive up the new and improved McClain Street. Over this past year I have walked along the construction site dozens of times but today was my maiden-Ruby-voyage. Perhaps not for the folks who live beside her, but for someone who lives close, it is good to have her access available again.

And yes, today we also have rain. My brain clearly played rhyming games all the way to work but I was also giving thanks.

I know that not every farmer is keen on end of May rain, but the one that I live with is hoping that more is still on the way. Grateful.

My Tuesday morning thankful list also included the conversation that I had at the grocery store, which started a but cautiously but gained confidence and grace as we lingered.

There is also my iced coffee ~ not from one of my regular stops and not what I ordered but it is turning out to be a tasty alternative.

Then, in a few minutes the Immanuel staff will gather via Zoom for our weekly meeting. Each one of my colleagues ranks at the top of my gratitude list. Everyone of them is fully dedicated to their area of ministry. We are blessed by their work every day.

And for you … thank you for your willingness to continue this journey together, as community, as the Body of Christ spread far and wide.

Praying that mercy and joy shower your day!

Pastor Leah
