Joy In The Wilderness
Can I hear an 'oops' please?
Following a fellow-convertible, I was returning to Silverton after visiting Salem Hospital. Buzzing down a country road, a pickup truck pulled out and across the road, directly in front of the first convertible. The front driver slammed on his brakes, narrowly missing the pickup; I too heavily braked.
The man in the front car threw up his arms, in the universal sign for 'what were you thinking?' To which, the kid who had unsafely pulled across the road, flipped off the driver whom he had just endanger. Please understand, the kid in pickup made a poor choice and when another person reacted, the same driver, instead of offering some sort of 'sorry' basically cursed back.
It seems to me that we could use an extra measure of grace in our lives, at least enough to say oops.
