Joy In The Wilderness

Musings and ponderings by Pastor Leah Stolte-Doerfler

Fallout…

I looked up and noticed a rather significant limb has been knocked down outside of my study window. One doesn't have to look very far to see any number of those broken remnants of last winter's ice storm. Which is to say, reminders of the event linger…

Do you ever catch a whiff of smoke and suddenly last summer's fire situation is right back in your face, all over again?

Who we are today is a product of our experiences along this journey of life.

Closed doors…open windows…opportunities…detours…

And alongside of those twists and turns we have choices, especially about how we will respond and our attitude through it all. How will we hold our space? What will we do with this one wild and precious life?

I certainly would not have signed up the year we have just come through…like it or not, that year has changed the world, each of us, and the church. Friends, what has been knocked loose or should be? Where to from here? What does God have in mind for the Church of Jesus Christ?

Keep wondering…

Keep asking…

By the way, minutes after the limb hit the ground, one of you 'happened along' and quickly sawed it up and moved it out of the way. Hmmm, like the Spirit had a plan or something.

Can I hear an 'oops' please?
