Joy In The Wilderness
Duckies in a row…
Duckies in a row…
As soon as I spotted them, I knew that I NEEDED that photo, if for no other reason than because I love duckies in a row; on this occasion literally but every other day of my life, figuratively. In other words, I appreciate order. A lot. And organization. And planning. And preparation.
{For those of you who know me well, who know this about me, I'm pretty sure I can hear you snickering. Fair.}
The truth is that I had made several attempts to get a good shot of the duckies all lined up together on the log. Yet, over and over again, before I could get close enough to get the picture, the birds would take off, 'running' across the top of the water. Imagine this, in an instance the peaceful line-up would disintegrate into a flock of frightened water-fowl fleeing in every direction, their webbed feet smacking against the surface ~ from tidy to chaos in an instant.
That resonates in my head and heart and spirit these days ~ water-fowl, splattering, speed-escaping ~ from tidy to chaos.
Can I also tell you that there was beauty and delight in watching them scatter? What a wonder the duck is. It flies. It swims. And for at least a bit, it also runs on water.
Again, I have been reminded that these days hold gifts; I am still watching.
