Joy In The Wilderness
Who goes there?
On the roof, over the mailbox, some swarming up, others climbing down, their front porch is quite literally crawling with skeletons; this particular guy has ventured a bit further and seems to be waiting behind the sign, prepared to spring upon some unsuspecting soul.
Across the street from my study, I noticed a skeleton sitting at a table, apparently expecting company.
Around town I have found several new graveyards, along with witches who have plastered themselves into trees.
And there are pumpkins galore ~ orange, white, green, warted, carved, painted.
I realize that there are all sorts of strong feelings about Halloween, ways that are deemed appropriate to celebrate or decorate, or not. But during this long season of isolation, I am enjoying the creative whimsy of those who are dressing up their spaces for the season.
Thank you!
